The EBLA team specializes in outdoor pool design and installation. Step 1 is to get to know our client, our client’s goals and dreams for their exterior space, and find our what is logistically possible for their landscape. We do this through Feasibility Studies and Client Consultations on site. After an initial conversation or phone call, an appointment will be made, and Ed Ball will personally come out to you and your home to begin the dream process!
First we want to know what our client’s goals and dreams are, maybe they just have these big picture ideas, but they don’t really understand the details and how to make their outdoor living space a reality. Each home’s exterior assumes various characteristics based on layout, neighborhood, locality, and arbitrary constraints, for example, which must be assessed and integrated into the plans. When necessary or beneficial we even use drone technology to attain an aerial bird’s eye view of a client’s full landscape and potential!
Once we clearly understand the customer’s wishes, we embark on the design process. We consider factors such as the site’s orientation, topography, existing vegetation, and architectural style of the home. We then create a master plan that outlines the layout of the space, including hardscape elements like patios, walkways, and retaining walls, as well as softscape elements like trees, shrubs, and perennials. Throughout the design process, we maintain close communication with the customer, ensuring that their vision is being realized. Once we have a thorough grasp of the client’s desires and requirements, we set out on the design process. This involves taking into account a range of crucial factors, including the site’s orientation in relation to the sun’s path, the topography or slope of the land, any existing vegetation that may influence the design, and the architectural style of the home. Considering all these elements, we can create a coherent and harmonious design that complements the surrounding environment.
One crucial aspect of high-end landscape design is the seamless integration of natural elements with man-made structures. I often incorporate indigenous plants and local materials to create a sense of harmony with the surrounding environment. This approach enhances the visual appeal of the space while promoting sustainability.
Another essential consideration is the creation of distinct zones within the landscape. For instance, I might incorporate a tranquil seating area nestled amidst lush greenery, a well-equipped outdoor kitchen for entertaining guests, and a secluded spot for relaxation and reflection. Each zone offers a unique experience, allowing the homeowner to fully enjoy the versatility of their outdoor space.
In addition to aesthetics, I also prioritize practical considerations such as privacy, security, and accessibility.
