As we have experienced, summer in the DMV can get hot! One of the features that can cool you down is the right pool in your back yard. But even when summer is over, there are pools for other seasons of the year.

You need to know what works for your home with all the available pool styles and types. You need to consider your budget and goals for your pool.

We have compiled four types of pools to consider for your back yard.

In-ground pools

If you are looking for a more permanent pool, in-ground pools are what you need. They are built directly into your landscape.

You can choose from concrete, fiberglass, and vinyl-liner pools.

Infinity pools

If you want to take advantage of some scenic views around your home, you may need an infinity pool. An infinity pool will showcase panoramic views like mountains, water bodies, and forests with the illusion of a never-ending pool.

Its only disadvantages are it is expensive to construct and maintain

Lap pools

If you want to stay fit and healthy, lap pools are for you. These in-ground pools are great for swimming laps and will fit perfectly in small yards because they are long and narrow.

The materials are similar to other in-ground pools.

Spas

You need a hot tub or spa if you want to rest, relax, and enjoy hydrotherapy. The difference between the two is the hot tub is above-ground, and the spa is in-ground.

You will love that they are portable and inexpensive to install and maintain but dislike the limited space.

Pools are a must-have if you want to enjoy your back yard to the fullest. You can choose an option that fits your budget and needs from above-ground, in-ground, lap, infinity, and hot tubs and spas.
